Jubilee lunch

This week, my lovely colleague Laura (of Lost & Found fame, and always full of good ideas), proposed we had a merchandising department picnic-lunch on Friday, to celebrate the Jubilee and the end of work for [at least] four days.

It's truly amazing what you can do with 24 hours and a department full of girls who, in short, love food. We sabotaged a meeting room, stuck up some bunting and for a good hour forgot about our spreadsheets and dug in.

My homemade sausage rolls and asparagus twists got a good seeing to, addis a whole host of other British picnic treats - Quiche, cold meat, fresh bread, British cheeses, Victoria sponge (of course), fresh fruit - the list goes on.

If you're stuck for something to do over the long weekend, take note - grab your friends & a few bits from your local supermarket deli counter, spread out a tablecloth (or picnic blanket if the weather improves) and enjoy yourself!

The M&S Jubilee packaging got us in the spirit
Three of us in the office confess to a love of pork pies...
and yet we still felt we needed this many
